What our Clients Say

Dear Lance and all your staff at Lawnswood,

I would like to extend my heart-felt gratitude for the wonderful service that you provide for the sensitive and caring treatment of people’s deceased pets.

My wonderful Rotti, Tobi, died very suddenly in the early morning of March 6th 2010. It has been of enormous comfort to us that your services were available on a Saturday, that her body was collected promptly and that she was handled with due reverence and care. I appreciated that you allowed us to take our time saying goodbye to her and that you dealt with us – her grieving and shocked family – with sensitivity and compassion at such a difficult time. Her ashes were returned very promptly in a beautiful photo box which will be given a very special place in our house.

Please allow me to compliment you on providing such a professional, but reverent service to the pet owners of Perth. I can thoroughly recommend your business to anyone who wants special attention and treatment for the remains of their beloved animals.

Thank you again.

Sharon from Sorrento

Village Kid

4th Dec 1980 – 24th April 2012

VILLAGE KID, aka ‘WILLIE’ - Harness Racing Legend, trained by Bill Horn, a butcher by trade.

Lawnswood recently had the privilege of cremating the great legend Village Kid.  At 31 years old Village Kid was both a harness racing legend and a huge personality.

He died at the Hope Valley property with his loving family by his side. He lived out his days with Bill, Norma and family still watching all the 'youngin's' coming through the stable and reminding them he is still the legend.

The Horn Family would like to take a minute and sincerely thank you for the overwhelming support our family has received. Lawnswood were so kind and good.  Nothing can take away the pain, but it certainly made it a little easier to deal with knowing that Willie was taken care of and loved by so many.

"To all Staff at Lawnswood! My daughter and I thank you for the service and efficiency you gave us for our dearly loved 'Ralphy' no more suffering bless him. I was so pleased with the lovely Rosewood Box that you brought him home in, I feel better now he's home...."

To the Staff: Thank you for the service that you provided and the professional way in which you conducted your business. Thank you for remembering my animal's name, especially the drivers who were outstanding in their role. I am deeply grateful in the way you were sympathetic and understanding to the way I was feeling at the time.

To the Drivers: Thanks again, you really do an outstanding job. When I was stuck for words you filled them in, when I went to speak my pet's name and couldn't you filled it in. Thank you again, you provide a great service to all. You go beyond what's expected. Thanks.

To the Receptionist: Who answered my call , and responded so well to my call and dealt with me in an outstanding way. Thanks.

To the Founders: You provide a excellent service to the community in which I truly respect. Thanks.

"Dear Madeleine, Lance and staff, I wanted to share my sincere appreciation for your kindness, professionalism and empathy you and your staff recently gave me when organising the final arrangements for my dog Zues after he passed away. I loved Zeus more than words could ever express and your understanding at this most difficult time made an unbearable situation, just that little bit easier.
Thank you once again for such an amazing service you provide - the human touch makes all the difference."

Dear Lance and Staff,

Thank you for your wonderful service.  We live in Kalgoorlie and you made everything very easy for us during a very emotional time.  We had to make that hard decision of having our cat Sooty of 13 years put to rest. Thankfully our vet had your brochure Because of you we now, can have Sooty with us always. It's great to have her back home with us.  Thanks again to all of you.  You are all wonderful.

The Moore Family.

What can one say but a big thank you for the special way you  look after our pets.  I would recommend the services of Lawnswood to anyone considering cremation or burial of their pet.  I have utilised the services of Lawnswood for the cremation of my two guide dogs, Greta and Molly.  They were very special girls and Lawnswood staff treated them that way, they treated them and myself and family with the utmost respect.  I received my dogs ashes back in a short period of time and was treated in a very empathetic and understanding manner.  I cannot thank Lawnswood enough and while I hope I don't need their services again for a long time, I would not hesitate to use them again in the future and would commend them to others who have lost their pets.   Thank you once again Lawnswood.

Best wishes,
Geraldine

"Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for the care you put into your service. It's a sad, but comforting feeling having my Maizie back home. Thanks",

Pet Poems & Stories

A Requiem to "Rusty"
So beautiful and loving an abgel in disguise,
So obedient, intelligent and 'Dogie' world wise

Our walks together were the highlight of th eday
Whether for required 'offices' or just for play.

Always loved Children, a nudge or a kiss,
No agression or ill feeling, a life of bliss.

If there is a big playground up there in heaven you will fit in fine,
And have a waggy tail welcome for as if we qualify to join you in due time.

God bless, my angel', All my love 'Dad'.

Tribute to a Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane unto a spot on the floor.
Then I remember, it's where you used to lie, but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound.
Then I remember, it's where your paws would have joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill.
Then I remember it can't be yours, your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor and empty muted hall,
and lay them with the absent voice and unused dishes along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials in a blanket of my love
And keep them for my best friend until we meet above.

Anon.

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done, for this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad I understand, but don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest, your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many good years, you wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time goes, please, let me go.

Take me to where my needs they'll tend, only, stay with me until the end,
And hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree, it is kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close 'we two' these years, don't let your heart hold any tears.

Client’s Poems

Daydreams.

The memory of  a soft warm body,
So long ago it seems hard to touch,
A warm muzzle, a soft snicker in my daydreams.
Where were we ?
It’s so long ago, I don’t remember.

Another memory, of warm breezes,
Soft green grass, and yellow dandelions,
The heavy drone of bee’s.
Oh ! The freedom!!
To run and jump, race the wind,
And chase the rainbow.

Carefree days and silver moonlit nights.
Cold rain, and crashing thunder,
But home and safety
Was but a short gallop away.
Snug in my stable,
I gazed upon the world.

I remember bush tracks
With morning mist curling.
Puddles to splash through.
Soft dry sand and scrub,
Heat and bothersome flies.
And the odd ‘Roo that made me jump.

Other memories I have.
Of children and dogs,
Friends all.

Fun and games, with friends in crowds.
Of flags and jumps in every hue.
And of ribbons upon my neck.

But the best memories I have
Are the  memories of
The gentle and loving hand upon my neck and rein
And shoulder, the brush upon my rump.
The soft dear voice that
Cajoles and reassures, always understands.

The breeze rustles the gums,
As the old horse stands dozing in the shade.
Are these his dreams of days long gone ?
For these are my memories and dreams too.

Goodbye my dearest friend,
I miss your soft welcoming snicker,
Your loving and gentle eyes,
Honest and true.

Your dreams are stilled,
But my dreams still live,
In a heart that grieves for
My dearest friend.
